I have three toddlers between the ages of 5 and 1.5. Winter is notoriously the time of year when I slip into seasonal depression and anxiety. My three kids are bouncing off the walls since we can’t get that much needed outdoor time. The winter months also bring cold and flu season so we are trapped at home with fevers, tummy bugs, and hacking coughs for a majority of the winter anyway. It’s isolating and lonely, especially for an extrovert, to be stuck at home for such a long period of time!
Here’s a few tips to help you save your sanity during these frigid winter months!
- Climbing Furniture: Although climbing furniture like the nugget can be expensive, I promise you it is priceless! When you are stuck inside these climbing toys will help your toddlers get out all their energy! They are also great for building forts and other imaginative play games! Search for off brands, sales, or Facebook Marketplace!
- Magna-Tiles: These magnetic shapes will keep your toddlers busy for hours! They are amazing for watching your child’s imagination grow. They help your child develop critical thinking and fine motor skills as well. The possibilities are endless with these fun shapes! Tip: These can be expensive as well so make sure to check Facebook Marketplace, thrift stores, or ask for them for birthday and/or Christmas gifts!
- Hand Sanitizer: Cold and flu season is no joke. Last winter we had RSV, COVID-19, the flu, a tummy bug, and 2 colds withing the span of 4 months. It was insane and mentally and physically exhausting! Take every precaution that can! Stock up on hand sanitizer.
- Pacifier: When you’re stuck inside for weeks (or months) on end with energetic toddlers, it doesn’t take long to go crazy. Being stuck inside might have you going insane, but a pacifier wristband is one thing that can help you and your toddler during these winter months! Infant pacifiers are great for helping young toddlers to calm down. However, it’s hard to keep toddlers calm for long if their newborn pacifier keeps falling out! This is also a bad problem to have during cold and flu season. You don’t want your newborn pacifier to keep falling out and picking up nasty germs.
A pacifier clip has been the typical solution to this problem. However, the Ingy Bingy Band is a safer alternative to a pacifier clip. If your toddler is running around, a pacifier clip can easily become a choking hazard.
The Ingy Bingy Band is a pacifier wristband that helps your toddler with big feelings to calm down in a safe and easy way. This pacifier bracelet keeps your child from dropping their pacifier and picking up unnecessary germs. Stay healthy and safe this winter and get the Ingy Bingy Band!
Solidarity to all the parents surviving winter with a toddler! You are doing a fantastic job!
